The birth of the skid steer loader has an interesting story:
In 1957, turkey farmer Eddie Wali came to the blacksmith shop of the brothers Serrell and Louis Keller in R ò t h s a y, Minnesota for help; Because he cannot use his motorized loader between the poles erected in the animal pens. So, the Keller brothers agreed to help Wally build a lightweight mobile propulsion loader that could move freely to the second floor of the barn and clean the space around the pole. They went to the waste station to search for materials and ideas, and finally pieced together a three wheel loader with two drive wheels in the front and a small wheel foot at the back. This new type of loader is equipped with a 6-horsepower magnetic core starting engine, which is independently controlled by the left and right sides for driving.
The teeth of the fork on the front shovel are made of the window frame of the nearby Jose prison, which was the only steel that the Keller brothers could find at that time that was hard enough.
