Cleaning And Precautions For Spiral Conveyors

Jun 14, 2024

The screw conveyor must be inspected before starting up to prevent foreign objects from falling into the interior of the screw conveyor, causing damage to the screw disc or breakage of the screw shaft. The interior of the conveyor should be cleaned regularly to maintain normal operation of the equipment.

The casing of the LS series groove screw conveyor is a U-shaped groove with a cover plate on the groove body. When cleaning, the fixing bolts can be removed, the cover plate can be removed, and then cleaned. This type of conveyor is relatively easy to clean and can be directly cleaned with an air pump or other equipment.

Pipe type screw conveyor, also known as screw feeder, has two methods for cleaning due to the casing being a steel pipe: flushing with water or ventilation cleaning. Water injection cleaning refers to flushing a large amount of water into the inlet pipe to flush out the remaining materials. Ventilation cleaning is the process of using an air pump or fan to introduce a large amount of air into a pipe and blow the material out of the pipe. Both methods can easily clean the materials inside the pipe.

Spiral conveyors are widely used in various industries and can be used for conveying various materials. Different specifications of conveyors can be selected according to the different viscosities of materials during transportation. Common spiral conveyors can be divided into axial spiral conveyors and shaftless spiral conveyors based on materials. Axial spiral conveyors are commonly used for conveying materials, while shaftless spiral conveyors are used for conveying viscous materials.
